About
Hi. I’m Teri Conklin.
I am a storyteller, strategist, and community-caring communications nerd.
With more than a decade in nonprofit marketing and communications, I specialize in thoughtful, people-first messaging that builds trust and makes an impact. Whether I’m shaping a full marketing campaign or writing the world’s most heartfelt event caption, I bring creativity, care, and a deep love for the kind of storytelling that actually does something.
I believe good communication should feel like an open door, not a locked PDF. It should always center the voices in the communities it’s reaching. And it should be clear, human, and absolutely welcoming.
Through PlumLede, I partner with values-driven organizations to craft messaging and strategy that reflect who they are and where they’re going. I’m collaborative, empathetic, slightly obsessed with well-placed em dashes, and am always down to brainstorm over coffee.
Let’s create something together that matters.

Where does the PlumLede name come from?
The name PlumLede Marketing is rooted in two powerful ideas. “Plum” comes from the Plum Flower, or Oso Berry, one of the first native Pacific Northwest plants to bloom after long winters. It symbolizes renewal, quiet resilience, and the return of voice and color after dormant seasons. Like this plant, the nonprofits and mission-driven organizations PlumLede serves are often ready to share their voices with the communities they serve. “Lede” is a journalistic term known as the opening sentence of a story, written to draw readers in. PlumLede helps clients craft messaging with clarity, intention, and storytelling that sticks.
Together, PlumLede represents the moment when purpose and voice align, and it’s time to make meaningful impact.
PlumLede’s Equity Statement
PlumLede is built on the belief that storytelling is a tool for justice and community care. Every message carries weight, and every voice deserves thoughtful, compassionate consideration. I’m committed to amplifying under-represented voices, working in anti-racist and anti-oppressive ways, and continually unlearning the biases we’re all shaped by. As a cis white woman, I recognize I carry a born-to-me privilege. I have a responsibility to step back when I know my silence creates space for others, and to speak up when my voice can interrupt the systems that continually harm historically underserved communities. No one can ever be a “perfect” human. That’s why this isn’t a checkbox. It’s a forever practice.
